I have been noticing how much the word "thankyou" means to people. As part of an
older generation I really appreciate being thanked for just about anything I do. A thankyou
note from someone is really uplifting to me. Recently my youngest granddaughter
sent me a thankyou note for her present we got for her first communion. It was
written by her and it is one of those things this grandma will treasure.
In our church today the priest thanked all the sunday school teachers for their work
this year and everyone in church applauded for us. I teach the 3 to 5 year olds.
All of the teachers enjoyed this it is a labor of love but we love being thanked
anyway. One of the lil angels I had in my class this year came up to me just before church
and gave me three beautiful yellow carnations and a cute card she had signed herself.
Nearly brought this ole grandma to tears.
I have tried to help other folks I know and all I ever expect is just a thankyou. At
Christmas this year our church helped out many families that were having a
hard time and the one I loved the best was this sweet older lady who just hugged
and hugged us as we brought in boxes of food. All she said with tears in her eyes was
thankyou, thankyou, thankyou God bless you. Needless to say we had the spirit
of Christmas the whole season.
Regardless of how minor the help is it never cost a cent to say thankyou. So next time
you are shown a kindness just say thankyou. I can assure you your lips will not
fall off.
Thanks for sharing a moment with me.
